• The client calls a page on a Web Server.
• The Web Server can then call an Application Server or a TP monitor.
• Through protocols such as DCOM and IIOP, the Web Server can also make calls to other network services such as company mail, or a Directory Server.
• (The application server, TP monitor, and Web server can all be on the same physical system.)
